Ford Transit 130 Cozy DIY Camper Conversion
Share
At TNTvans, we ship all over the USA. Occasionally I will install one of our kits for a customer here in St. George, UT. Last month I had the privilege of helping a local customer with their Ford Transit 130 Passenger Van.
The retired couple bought their passenger van for some week long getaways in the mountains. The camper van already had a bed system in it which utilized the IKEA Skorva rails. What they needed was a little functionality. A counter top, shelving, toilet storage, and sink system would really make their trips more comfortable.
So I installed a custom Ice Chest Slide that fit their cooler. We used all the space along the driver wall to maximize storage.
Then I installed the TNTvans Self-Contained Sink System. It comes with tanks, manual water pump, and hoses. With the flip up cover on the sink, now they have a place to heat up water for coffee or a nice place to put a laptop.
Lastly, every van conversion needs a place to sit down inside the van. We decided to put a Toilet Slide in the passenger sliding door area. This unit will not only store their Trelino Toilet but it also has extra storage underneath and serves as a convenient seat.
They are still in the process of building the van as they use it and find out exactly what they need and don't need. They will soon put the interior walls and ceiling back up that came with the passenger van.
In the future, the couple wants to install a TNTvans bed system and replace the tall rails of the IKEA Skorva setup so they can be more efficient with their van storage under the bed. I will install that next month for them.
This passenger van conversion really came together. The Ford Transit 130 Camper Van is one of the smaller vans out there but with big potential. You can squeeze all the camping amenities you need, and best of all, you still can fit the van into every normal sized parking spot you find during your adventure. I am quite impressed with this van.
